Screen blinking during login screen

Hello,
I bought a Dell inspiron 16 plus recently.

I have install Kaisen, and I have a screen bug only on screen login:
My screen blinking from black to strange frame and retur to normal login screen and again and again.

If y arrived to login to my session, this blinking effect disappear.

I you need log or vids tell me
.

Have a good day

Hello,

Thanks for this bug feedback!

I have a few questions though:

  • What graphic environment are you using?
  • Are you on Kaisen 2.0?
  • Did you install the distribution with the NETINST ISO?
  • Do you have a Radeon or Nvidia graphics card in your PC?

You can send us pictures and/or videos in answer to these questions if you wish, that will surely allow me to help you better !

Thanks

What graphic environment are you using? → MATE
Are you on Kaisen 2.0? → Yes
Did you install the distribution with the NETINST ISO? I have run the live CD and install from the desktop icon
Do you have a Radeon or Nvidia graphics card in your PC? → Nvidia 3060M

You have installed Kaisen since version 1.2 (it was the only ISO that had an installation link from the live desktop)?

Ok, it’s possible that it’s a graphic bug related to the driver.
Have you done all the updates since the kaisen-update command?

How long have you had this problem?

Your’r right… I have installed Kaisen from boot menu.

<No update with kaisen-update

Since the first install on this laptop.

Ok I understand better!
Try to update with the kaisen-update command, it may solve your problem!

If it’s not the case, don’t hesitate to tell me here

Result of kaisen-update :

Okay, via the command line ISO SR, do you get the same thing?

Ssorry, I de n’y understand what is it : ISO sr ?

https://iso.kaisenlinux.org/rolling/kaisenlinuxrolling2.0-amd64-SR.iso

Thé bug it’s during the login screen. With thr SR no login screen, the distro directly login

Okay,
Try these commands:
sudo apt autoremove --purge lightdm
sudo apt install kaisen-mate

Hello,

After this commands and reboot, no changes

Since the action to remove lightdm, I can’t open application menu list

Did you reinstall the kaisen-mate metapackage as described above?

Yes.
For your information, I have the same probleme with a Kali.
But no with a linux mint 20.3 base Ubuntu and MATE 1.26

Hello ,

After many test, I have installed and switch to gnome.
The screen not blinking now.

Maybe a bug between lightdm and my screen (3k?)

It is possible.
However, you can keep the interface you chose initially and install another connection manager (such as GDM3 or SDDM).
